Landbridge Group is an integrated, multi-dimensional company specializing in bulk materia handling. Intermodal equipment, transportation logistics and facility development and management. Landbridge has offices in New York and New Jersey and services all of the US, Canada and Mexico, as well as the Caribbean and Central America. The Landbridge group of companies includes Landbridge Intermodal, Landbridge Materials, Landbridge Financial Services and Landbridge Project Development.
Richard Kessler, C.E.O. of Landbridge, has had a presence in the Intermodal and trucking industry for over thirty five years. Mr. Kessler formed Landbridge in 1989 as an equipment supply company. In early 2002, Landbridge expanded its business to include investments in railroads, mining, asphalt manufacturing, logistics, and intermodal transportation facilities.
Andrew Kaufman, President of Landbridge, serves as President of Landbridge Group and acts as Managing Member of two of Landbridge’s operating partnerships; Landbridge Materials, LLC and Suffolk and Southern Railroad, LLC.

Landbridge Materials is part of the Landbridge Group and our operations provide quality crushed stone, asphalt, sand, gravel, and recycled materials to our respective markets. Landbridge Intermodal Equipment provides sales, rentals, and leasing of transportation equipment—including yard switchers, shipping containers, and trailers—servicing the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America from its New Jersey base.

Landbridge Intermodal Equipment
Landbridge Intermodal Equipment Sales, Inc. specializes in the sale, rental and leasing of new and used yard switchers, ISO shipping containers, intermodal container chassis, trailers and other transportation equipment. Landbridge is located in New Jersey and services all of the US, Canada, Mexico, as well as the Caribbean and Central America. Landbridge specializes in handling the total sale; from location of equipment, inspection, transportation and finance. We are a one stop sales organization that saves our clients time and money, by handling all aspects of the sale.
Landbridge Financial Group
Landbridge’s financial arm has contacts in commercial banking, private banking, hedge funds and other sources for capital and investment from an A list of potentially interested parties. The companies principals are responsible for raising over $300,000,000 in debt and equity finance. Landbridge’s Project Management services gives the client the edge because the company has a deep understanding of the clients business.
Because of the intense work that the company performs for it’s clients we have a better sense of the type and scope of finance and investment that best suit the client’s needs. Currently, the company is working on, financing a software company’s new product, a recycling company’s expansion into rail served property and negotiating a dealership agreement between a client and a manufacture.
Landbridge Project Management
The Landbridge Project management team serves its clients as a consulting group, project manager and general partner with extensive expertise in rail terminal development, commercialization of recycling technology, waste disposal. and specialized transportation logistics projects. Projects completed by the management group include the development of a short line railroad in Middletown, New York, a recycled pulp facility in Hagerstown, Paedegat Basin Bridge beam logistics project under construction, Maryland and a medical waste disposal facility in Baltimore, Maryland.
The company manages projects concepts to written business plans and financial analysis to a complete development package.The company is currently involved in commercial land and rail development projects in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey which, when completed, will encompass many different commercial enterprises.

Port of West Virginia (POWV) Follansbee, West Virginia
Empire proudly owns and operates the port, rail, and terminal facilities located in Brooke County, West Virginia—collectively known as the Port of West Virginia.
Our strategic partner, Landbridge, brings deep expertise in logistics and infrastructure development. The principals of Landbridge were the original founders and developers of the Brookhaven Rail Terminal in Long Island, New York, and have a proven track record in warehousing and liquid storage operations.
Empire has engaged Landbridge to lead key initiatives in the development and management of the Port of West Virginia. This collaboration is formalized through a comprehensive agreement that outlines Landbridge’s role as an independent contractor and defines the responsibilities of both parties in advancing the port’s growth and operational excellence.

Brookhaven Rail Terminal (BRT) Long Island, New York
Brookhaven Rail Terminal was formed by local, established Long Island business professionals in conjunction with Brookhaven Rail LLC. BRT is the first multi-modal rail freight facility on Long Island to provide rail based shipping, warehousing and Logistic Services to this critical U.S. market
